We’ve been installing commercial and residential window tinting for Salt Lake City and the surrounding area since 2008. We’re equipped with a team of experienced staff and use high quality products to provide flawless results every time.
Our Installation Process
The truth is, you won’t find a group of individuals that knows more about the ins and outs of their trade. Our window tinting experts know practically everything about the technical aspects of window film products and installation. We’ve perfected our installation process over the years to continually provide our clients with the best experience possible. Our procedure generally follows the steps below:
Onsite consultation & inspection: We meet you onsite to gain an understanding of the building, take site measurements, and learn more about your project goals. Then we make an appointment to install the film at a time that works well with your schedule. If necessary, we can schedule during off hours for your convenience.
Installation: Before your appointment, we use a plotter to cut all of the window film in advance. This helps to reduce the length of time required for the installation and minimizes product waste. Next, we thoroughly clean the windows and apply C-Bond as a primer. Then, the window film is applied to the glass.
Final touches: After the film is applied, we squeegee out the C-Bond adhesive.* Then, we clean up the edges of the glass and make sure that there are no imperfections. After this, all we have to do is wait for about 24-72 hours for the adhesive to set completely.** This wraps up the installation process.
**Please note, for projects that are not applied with C-Bond, it may take up to four weeks for the film to achieve full clarity and adhesion. In certain cases that involve well-shaded areas or interior rooms that lack sunlight, there can be adhesion problems when C-Bond is not used for the installation.
*This step does not apply to projects that do not involve C-Bond primer.
Why We Use C-Bond
We use C-Bond as a primer on our projects because we believe that it has the ability to provide superior results. Traditionally soap and water are used to prime glass, but this technique doesn’t actually enhance the glass itself. C-Bond works to increase the strength of glass and window film at a molecular level. It’s proven to be so effective that it has the ability to:
-Enhance glass strength by at least 100%
-Prevent cracking due to thermal expansion
-Defend against hail, golf balls, and lawn mower rocks
-Decrease drying time for window film products
-Improve window clarity during installation
Find Out More About C-Bond Systems
C-Bond Systems are a relatively new product that have only recently emerged in the window tinting industry. C-Bond works by enhancing glass and window film products at the molecular level for increased strength and security. At Window Film Salt Lake City, we use C-Bond I for all general window film applications. For clients that are interested in achieving a high level of security, we also offer C-Bond II, which is a ballistic defense system that uses a combination of layered film and adhesive.
