Our most recent hotel window tinting job was at a Marriott hotel. This location was just about to install expensive roller shades to deal with horrible afternoon glare through their large iconic windows. These windows had amazing views and were a key part of the bustling convention center. But as we pointed out to them–while the roller shades would get rid of glare they would also reduce the allure of the open, scenic space. They agreed and asked us for a film solution to glare and UV exposure that would keep their hotel windows unique style and gorgeous views.
Finding A Window Tint For Hotel Style And Comfort
It took our window tinting experts a few different samples to find just the right film for style in comfort in this specific case. The windows faced west so the glare of the sun from 2 pm until sunset was a definite challenge. We worked through our selection of spectrally selective film finding one that was effective without a significant reduction in visible light because preserving the view key. We knew we needed a powerful film with gorgeous aesthetics to match and one that wasn’t too dark. In the end, the hotel managers loved the look and the UV blocking effect of the Llumar DRN-35. This film had everything. It blocked glare, UV rays, and solar heat gain, making the space conducive to use by guests. But it also preserved the interior furnishings from fading. Plus, it is a simply stunning film that actually added to the windows aesthetics instead of detracting from them.
